Dove

Apparantly this is the most watched video on YouTube at the moment. It's a Dove advert that tries to show that the beauty industry can take a very ordinary individual and transform them completely by make-up and computer touch up.

is this Dove as in the Soap?

to be fair, the woman is hardly ugly to begin with and changes into a perception of beauty which I've never liked anyway, so I'm kinda confused with it.

Presume they saying that self esteem is more important than society's localised pressures on beauty whatever that might be.

I don't think the woman is ugly but she was chosen as someone quite "average" complete with spots.

Dove have a "Campaign for real beauty" trying to use "real" women in their ads. I think this is a brilliant marketing ploy and may well influence my purchasing.

Wow, it goes to show how much adjusting can and has been done to models in adverts, it's interesting to see.
