The £21 dilemma
I made the mistake of going into Primark and dear reader I must confess, I spent £21. This bought:
- 1 vest top
- 2 t-shirts
- 1 pair of flip flops
- 6 pack of socks
- a pack of 10 girls knickers
- a beach skirt
- a pack of 5 knickers
- 10 hairbands
If I had been spending my money ethically I could have bought this in the sale at People Tree.
I really struggle. I want to do the right thing and yet I don't do it. Is wanting to do good and being aware enough?

I feel your pain - it's very hard.

A theoretical perspective.
Socrates said that if you know what's good, you'll do it. Conversely, therefore, if you're not doing what's good then you don't really know it.
Aristotle said that people who want to do the good but don't manage it are actually worse than those who don't want to do the good but discipline themselves into doing it...
Neither of which is very encouraging for people like us! :-\
I knew you would give me some food for thought there Carl, thanks!
at least you're thinking about it.
I know a lot of people who wouldn't think twice about spending £100 a day in more expensive and no more ethical shops
I bet that they were nice flip flops though.
(hey btw, this is that Si guy that you've not heard from in ages. Hope all is well and swell and that.)

Thanks for posting the people tree link, I've been looking for some cheap tops for ages and I found really nice ones in the sale, cheaper than anywhere else, yay! (so it can be good sometimes...)
